The Facts About Fluoride

The Facts About Fluoride

What is Fluoride?

Fluoride is a chemical substance sometimes added to water or toothpaste. Found naturally in soil, water, and foods. It is also produced synthetically for use in drinking water, toothpaste, mouthwashes and various chemical products.

The Journal of the American Medical Association Pediatrics recently published a study titled. Association Between Maternal Fluoride Exposure During Pregnancy and IQ Scores in Offspring in Canada. In the study, 512 mother-child pairs were reviewed, comparing women living in areas of fluoridated vs those with non-fluoridated water.

The children’s IQ was assessed at the ages of 3-4 years. They discovered that a 1 mg higher daily intake of fluoride by the mother during pregnancy was associated with 3.66 lower IQ scores in both boys and girls. The researchers concluded that with the findings, women should reduce their exposure and intake of fluoride during pregnancy. This is an important indication that during child development, the intake of fluoride has serious child development consequences that are preventable.

FERI Microsilver Protection Toothpaste

Opulence Global reviewed this continuing controversy in the development of Flawless Microsilver Toothpaste. While fluoride is widely used, there is a growing number of natural, fluoride-free toothpaste that simply does not work. Opulence discovered that in 2008, Uni Clinic Erlangen conducted a study on toothpaste containing Microsilver.  The researchers reported a significant reduction in biological marker germs responsible for periodontitis.

Combining this information with our success in using Microsilver in our FERI Flawless anti-aging skincare regimen, Opulence Global created North America’s first fluoride-free Microsilver toothpaste.
