Sophia Residence to be launched
A new freehold condo will be reportedly launched soon by Guocoland. It will feature 272 units in blocks from 8 to 14 storeys high. The development is located jut behind Paradiz Centre and is near Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
Units reportedly as follows:
1-bedroom (14 units) ~ 610 sqft
2-bedroom (22 units) ~ 790 sqft to 800 sqft
3-bedroom (166 units) ~ 1030 sqft to 1460 sqft
4-bedroom (49 units) ~ 1840 sqft to 2060 sqft
Penthouses (21 units) ~ 1640 sqft to 2960 sqft
The condo will have full facilities which include a 50m lap pool, Jacuzzis, children’s pools and fitness areas. What is interesting to note is that the development won a BCA Platinum Award for its eco-friendly features.
[UPDATE: 9 June 2009. All 272 units will be on sale during launch, with the exception of the penthouses. Pricing: $1,500 to $2,000 per sq ft]
[UPDATE: 24 July 2009. Sophia Residence have sold 85% of 138 units (around 114) released so far. All studios and two-bedrooms have been sold out. Analysts say foreigners are buying the units for their children, given the proximity of the project to SMU. Selling price range from S$1,450 to S$1,850psf.
