URA launches tender for residential site at Chestnut Avenue

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has launched a residential site at Chestnut Avenue for sale by public tender today.

The land parcel at Chestnut Avenue is launched for sale under the Confirmed List of the 2nd half 2011 (2H2011) Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme. This land parcel released for sale today can yield about 380 housing units.

In addition, the Housing & Development Board (HDB) will be releasing three other residential sites for sale today. The two residential sites at Punggol Central / Edgedale Plains and Yishun Avenue 1 / Miltonia Close will be released for sale via the Confirmed List while another residential site at Bishan Street 14 will be made available for application for sale on the Reserve List. These three sites can potentially yield another 1,575 housing units.

Together, these four sites will provide developers and home-buyers with more choices.

The details of the URA residential sale site are as follows:

Land Parcel at Chestnut Avenue

With a site area of about 1.87 ha, the land parcel will have a maximum permissible gross floor area (GFA) of 39,271 sqm.

The site, located in the western part of Singapore, is well connected to major arterial roads and expressways such as Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), Pan Island Expressway (PIE) and Upper Bukit Timah Road. Residents will enjoy easy access to the rest of Singapore when the future Cashew, Hillview and Petir stations along the Downtown Line are ready by 2015.
